More Than 100 AMRs and AGVs Streamline Internal Logistics
A textile manufacturer in Southeast Asia has automated material transport across its production facility with the help of OKAGV and Kollmorgen’s NDC Solutions. Managing more than 2,000 product and material variants required frequent material movements and the flexibility to adapt to changing production demands. To improve logistics between production areas and warehouses, the company deployed more than 100 AMRs and AGVs.
Built for High-Mix Material Handling
The solution combines OKAGV White Shark 1000 AMRs, Crab 2000 AMRs, and forklift AGVs with load capacities ranging from 500 kg to 2,000 kg. Operating at speeds of up to 2 m/s, the vehicles efficiently manage the continuous flow of materials required in a high-mix production environment.
Flexible Navigation for Efficient Transport
To support reliable movement throughout the facility, the vehicles are equipped with Kollmorgen's NDC Solutions using both laser navigation and QR code navigation. This combination enables accurate positioning and consistent material transport between production areas and warehouse operations, helping the manufacturer adapt to varying production volumes and changing order patterns.
Improved Efficiency Across the Operation
The automation project has delivered significant operational improvements. Material handling efficiency increased by more than 45%, while manual handling costs were reduced by 30%. Delivery errors were eliminated, improving accuracy from a 2% error rate to zero. At the same time, overall production line capacity increased by 28%.
Reliable Automation at Scale
Powered by Kollmorgen's NDC Solutions, the fleet can coordinate up to 120 vehicles and integrate with warehouse and manufacturing management systems. The result is a flexible and scalable automation solution that supports around-the-clock operations, improves production flexibility, and enables efficient material handling across the facility.
