Reaction to fault situations S300-S700
Valid for S300, S700
Depending on the current trouble, faults are managed differently (different error levels):
LEVEL 0 : Warning without STOP
Trouble is displayed with a warning number xx in the LED display (nxx). Additionally a warning bit is set in the status register, that can be reported with a digital output. The output stage remains enabled, the amplifier remains ready to operate, but the operation may be reduced (current limitation). Reduction of operation will disappear as soon as trouble disappears.
LEVEL 1 : Warning with STOP
Trouble causes a stop of the drive (emergency stop). Braking is done speed controlled with the emrgency ramp (DECSTOP). The output stage remains enabled, the amplifier remains ready to operate. Standard operation is possible when the trouble disappeared and the warning is quit with CLRFAULT. Trouble is displayed with a warning number xx in the LED display (nxx). Additionally a warning bit is set in the status register, that can be reported with a digital output.
LEVEL 2 : Error with STOP and disable of output stage
Trouble causes a stop of the drive (emergency stop). Braking is done speed controlled with the emrgency ramp (DECSTOP). When the stand still limit VEL0 is reached (or the time EMRGTO) the output stage is disabled. The amplifier is not ready to operate (not BTB/RTO). Standard operation is possible when the error has been quit (CLRFAULT). Trouble is displayed with an error number xx in the LED display (Fxx). Additionally an error bit is set in the status register, that can be reported with a digital output.
LEVEL 3 : Error with SENSORLESS STOP and disable of output stage
Trouble causes a stop of the drive (emergency stop). Braking is done without position information from the feedback device. When the motor stands still, the output stage is disabled. The amplifier is not ready to operate (not BTB/RTO). Standard operation is possible when the error has been quit (CLRFAULT). Trouble is displayed with an error number xx in the LED display (Fxx). Additionally an error bit is set in the status register, that can be reported with a digital output.
LEVEL 4 : Error with immediate disable of output stage
Trouble causes immediately disablie of the output stage. The motor spins uncontrolled to standstill. The amplifier is not ready to operate (not BTB/RTO). Standard operation is possible when the error has been quit (CLRFAULT). Trouble is displayed with an error number xx in the LED display (Fxx). Additionally an error bit is set in the status register, that can be reported with a digital output.
The table below shows the reference of warnings/errors to the error levels. All troubles of level 0 and 1 (warnings) can be reconfigered to faults in levels 2, 4 (parameter WMASK). all troubles of level 2 and 3 can be reconfigured to level 4 (parameter ERRCNFG).
The parameters ACTFAULT and MBRAKE define the level of faults, that refer to level 2,3 and 4 in parallel.
ACTFAULT=1 or MBRAKE=1 LEVEL 2 bzw. 3 (default setting)
ACTFAULT=0 and MBRAKE=0 LEVEL 4

HW*= means, that a Hardware Reset (HW) can be switched to a Software Reset (SW) from FW 3.62 by Bit DRVCNFG3=16.
It is possible to delay the amplifier's reaction to a trouble situation. (only for some error messages). This function is active only, if a digital output has been configured as prewarning output (OxMODE=42). In case of trouble a message is reported by the related digital output (high level). After the selected delay time set in OxTRIG (in msec) the amplifier generates an error message and disables the output stage.
