KAS v4.05 Software is now available!

We are pleased to announce the release of KAS software v04.05!

KAS v4.05 introduces new capabilities that strengthen connectivity, simplify diagnostics, and support smoother migration from PDMM/PCMM single core to PCMM2G multi-core controllers.

• OPC UA Server - Expanded Industrial Connectivity:
  • KAS v4.05 introduces an OPC UA Server for PCMM2G, enabling secure, standards‑based communication between motion controllers and higher‑level automation systems. Comprehensive user documentation and training videos are available on the Kollmorgen Support Network (KSN) website:

• Web Diagnostic Panels: Browser‑Based Diagnostics and Visualization
  • The new Web Diagnostic Panels feature allows users to monitor and interact with control panels designed in KAS‑IDE directly through a web browser.

• Simplified Migration to PCMM2G Controllers:
  • A new Single‑Core Compatibility Mode is introduced to enable legacy PDMM and PCMM applications to run on PCMM2G multi‑core controllers without requiring immediate code changes.

  • Kollmorgen Essentials™ Drive Support
    • KAS now supports the Kollmorgen Essentials Drive, allowing seamless integration with existing motion control architectures.
  • Enhanced Support forThird-party DS-402 Standard Compatible Drives
    • Projects can now be configured using only DS‑402–compliant third‑party drives, removing the previous requirement to include a Kollmorgen drive and increasing flexibility for mixed‑vendor environments.

• MKD-N Drive Integration Support.
• Express Setup View Access within the IDE embedded WorkBench views.
• ECAT PDO Data Read/Write Function Blocks:
  • These function blocks are especially useful when needing to access PDO objects larger than 32 bits.
• Support Mapping EtherCAT PDOs and I/O to Array Variables.
• Project Setting to Allow Legacy Support for Function Block Outputs in Conditional Expressions.

Platform Support Note (PDMM/PCMM)

KAS v4.05 will be the final production release for PDMM and PCMM (1st‑generation controllers), as we shift our development focus to PCMM2G going forward. We will continue to support PDMM/PCMM until an official End‑of‑Life (EoL) announcement is made; however, future updates will be limited to critical defect‑fix patches only.
