Expansion Card POS-IO

Usable with S700

General

This expansion card can be used with S700 Drive.
The PosI/O expansion card can be pushed into slot 2 or 3.

The expansion card PosI/O provides an extra SubD connector (X5) with high-speed, bidirectional digital 5 V inputs/outputs. The setup software can be used to preset various input and output functions, e.g.

• Position encoder emulation (ROD- or SSI- compatible)
• Input for high-speed 5 V RS485 signals (electronic gearing, master-slave operation)

The command OPTION2 delivers a code for the built-in expansion card. Bit 7 shows the specific type of the expansion card:

Bit7 = 0 (PosI/O Monitor, e.g.. OPTION2=0x2002)
Bit7 = 1 (PosI/O, e.g. OPTION2=0x2082)

Connectivity

Feedback (X5)

• Incremental encoder ROD (AquadB) 5V
• Incremental encoder ROD (AquadB) 5V mit Hall
• SSI Encoder (Gray oder Binär)

Electronic gearing, Master Slave operation (X5)

• Connection to a S700 - Master, 5V signal level

Connection to stepper motor controllers (step and direction) (X5)

• Step/Direction input with 5 V signal level

Encoder Emulation (X5)

• Incremental encoder output - A quad B
• SSI encoder output
• Zero pulse support only up to 4096 counts resolution (ENCOUT)
