Linear Actuators

General
This page describes the stainless steel linear actuator ERD. The stainless steel AKMH servomotors, which can be mounted to the actuators, are driven by a servo amplifier. Kollmorgen offers a mounting service for mounting the selected motor to the linear actuator. Both components are protection class IP69K.
Application area for these actuators is the food and beverage industry, without direct contact with unpacked foodstuffs. Applications can be cutting, packing and filling without direct contact with foodstuffs.
The AKMH motor can be mounted either in line with the actuator (LMI type) or inverse parallel (RP1 type). Both variants have a gear ratio of 1:1. Lead can be selected with 5mm/rev. (BNM05) or 10mm/rev. (BNM10).

1) The maximum thrust is correct as the maximum the actuator should be subjected to at any time.
2) The Dynamic Load Rating (DLR) is used to calculate the expected life of the ball screw. The ERD is represented with a DLR that is based on millions of revolutions.
Life Calculations
Example with ERD15 BNM05:
Application Thrust = 800N
Dynamic Load Rating = 2002N
L10 Calculation for Life = (DLR / Application Thrust)3 * Lead * 1,000,000 = Life
(2002/800)3 * 5mm * 1,000,000 ≈ 78,360,000 mm (Estimated Life)
