Connectivity

When Consumers think of Cloud Computing, they might imagine applications on their smartphone connecting to the cloud to access data (such as weather or driving directions or hotel reservations). In industry, where automated machinery uses resident controllers to perform real-time and mission-critical functions, the Cloud can be a resource to store data and analyze them.

The same can be said for the Internet of Things (IoT), particularly Industrial Internet of things (IIoT): Although the dream of chipmakers such as Intel are to connect everything to everything, the reality is you will need devices within a system to connect to devices within the same system. And the system’s controller will collect the data, use it to control the system, and share the data as needed with upstream devices such as MRP/ERP systems or the (internal or external) Cloud.

In the world of machine building, this means using the system values to improve the productivity of your factory increasing OEE and optimizing the performance of your production process.

When everything is connected, care should be taken for data security and privacy. We make sure your development and intellectual properties are always in safe hand. Protect your knowledge by locking your software and encrypting communication, setting the barrier high for unrestricted access.

Our System Manager NG for Automated Guided Vehicles leverages Big Data to calculate optimal routes using a similar principle as Waze and Google Maps.

Industrial Automation

Our drives connect to Profinet (Siemens), EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT or Modbus/TCP.

Our HMIs can connect directly to our controls and drives, offer OPC UA.

KAS can communicate with, and act as a gateway to, Ethernet TCP/IP (HTTP API), Profinet (Siemens), EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT. Also, KAS can use the data of the complete machine to execute on process optimization or predictive maintenance.
