Communicate with SC950 Servo Controller

The SC950 servo controller requires the software MA950-IDE.

Note: In order to serve our customers better on legacy products we are making the MA950-IDE software available for free download and discontinuing the shipment of software on a physical 3.5” floppy disk: MA950-IDE_Software for SC950.zip

The second thing you need is a straight through RS-232 cable (pins 2-2, 3-3 & 5-5).

Finally make sure that a program is not running.  The 7-segment display will show either a 0 (controller disabled) or an 8 (controller enabled).

If there is a period (".") after either the 0 or 8, then the program is running.

To stop the program type <Ctrl C> or click the Stop icon from the menu bar.

Two last considerations. The address within the the software must match the address on the OC950 card dip switch.

Additionally the Baud rate and COM Port in the software must match the  SC950 servo controller.

There are two Baud rates. 19200 (factory default) and 9600.

Serial Communications Ports are limited to COM1, COM2, COM3 & COM4.
