Course Summary & Content

This course is designed for Systems Engineers, Design Engineers, Authorized Kollmorgen Distributors. It will cover the overview of the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for KAS, Runtime, PCMM, and introduction to the IEC61131 programming languages.

Also covered is the Advanced Kollmorgen Terminal (AKT), SCU Safety Controller, PipeNetwork, and Coordinated Motin.  Programming will include Fault Handling, Rotary Knife application, and Punch Press application.

Maximum/Minimum Class Size: Minimum 4; Maximum 6

Unit Cost: $1,500 (US)/ Person

Included in this course is pre-work that will need to be performed before the online course begins. You will need a laptop with a steady internet connection and Ethernet port. Additionally, while not required, you will find high-level motion expertise useful, as well as basic programming concepts, and have previously attended Motion 101.

About the Instructors

Latonya Scott, Application Engineer III

Latonya brings with her a strong curiosity for the complexity of systems, and a desire to understand and implement best practices when sizing, apply, setting, and tuning the system for optimum performance.  Her desire to assist customers with troubleshooting and providing a solution drives her towards understanding the subtleties of each application.  This desire has helped her to develop training skills which allows her to share her knowledge and experiences in the classroom.

John (Jake) Jacobs, Systems Application Engineer II

Jake is a Systems Application Engineer with strong leadership skills, and has developed an outstanding talent for solving difficult motion challenges.  Focusing on full motion system implementation, Jake excels at selection, testing, and configuration.  Upon joining Kollmorgen, he quickly demonstrated his skill and passion for teaching.  Jake brings his personable nature and unique ability to clarify complex engineering concepts to Kollmorgen's online and in-person training series.
