The result is significantly enhanced torque, responsiveness and SafeMotion capabilities in a compact footprint that enables easy installation and total flexibility.
Performance vs Value Line
Choose the right cable for your products. Kollmorgen’s 2nd generation products (e.g. AKM2G, AKD2G) require 2G Performance cables. First generation products (e.g. AKM, AKD) are compatible with either 1G Performance or 1G Value Line cables.

*Hybrid cables are highly engineered to combine power conductors and feedback-signal conductors into one cable. Dual cables solutions separate power from feedback and typically allow for longer cable lengths. SFD3, Hiperface DSL and Endat 2.2 feedbacks are supported in hybrid cable technology.
1G Performance Cables
Use Performance cables in dynamic or trailing applications (e.g. gantries, robotics) if a custom cable length is required or a custom cable is necessary. The Performance cables in the table below pair AKM, CDDR and DDR motors to the AKD servo drive.

Information for Building Your Own CAN Cables:
According to ISO 11898, you should use a bus cable with a characteristic impedance of 120 Ω. For best results, we recommend CAT5e cable. The usable cable length depends on the transmission rate. The following measured values can be taken as a guide, but they should not be interpreted as limits. Construction details can be found in the Accessories Manual
