I'm controlling my PCMM from a custom C# .NET Windows application which is also controlling some other hardware. I can currently communicate with the drive via http get/set requests. But what is the recommended method to communicate with the drive? Is Modbus the way to go? Is there a recommended modbus library?

Eric:

Here is an over view of the protocols supported by the PDMM:

Modbus has the most “shareware” code samples, DLL, and ActiveX available. Here is a list: http://www.modbus.org/tech.php

UDP is the most difficult to use because you will need to code an interface inside the PDMM program.

There are some examples of setting up the PDMM for sharing data over one of these protocols.

Your welcome to visit our KAS website and review our articles and sample code examples on KAS communications.
