In the price book under EC1 Series Position Sensors, there is a note regarding end of travel sensor operation.

"Note:
Kollmorgen S200 and S700 drives require PNP position sensor.
AKD drive requires PNP position sensor for fail-safe operation of End-of-Travel sensor."

Could someone please explain why PNP is preferable for end of travel?

I understand using normally closed switch so if a sensor line is disconnected it is detected.

Valid for S300, S400, S600, S700

Incremental encoders with Hall Sensors are a combination of incremental signals for positioning and Hall signals for commutation. The incremental signals can have 5V (TTL) level or 24V level. Encoders with Hall and 5V-TTL signals are called ComCoder.
