Recently i took over a project for a Packaging machine reconstruction, and it came with S700 (V3.75) drive units. In order to save some money, we decided to keep the same drives and motors. We installed a Beckoff IPC and aimed to use the Ethercat function (Previously they operated as Can Open drives). Since i didnt manage to find any documentation for the connecting between S700 and TC3 ( only found for TC2 ) and also being new to Ethercat and the Kollmorgen drives, i used the Scan function to detect the drive.

Together with the servo pump functionality, an S700 servo amplifier can be used to power a hydraulic cylinder. The entire system usually consists of a servo amplifier, a motor with position feedback unit, and a hydraulic cylinder with pressure feedback unit. The cascaded pressure/volume regulation in S700 ensures compliance with a specified cylinder pressure or flow profile.

Not so long ago I bought Programmable Controller, Multi-axis Master (PCMM) and now I'm starting to learn it. I also have a S700 servo amplifier.

I have a task to simultaneously control two axes in real time. 

How can PCMM help me with this? How should I use it?

I think about EtherCAT multi-axis master and motion controller but I never worked with it. Should i use this?

I do not need stand-alone control. I want to control the axes using a PC.

The AKD Installation Manual, the S700 (S701-S724) Installation Manual, and the S700 (S748-S772) Installation Manual all show a vibration specification as "CLASS 3M1 According To IEC60721-3-3".

To further clarify, the following information is extracted from a table in the IEC document that covers all the different Classes.  The non-stationary shock spectrum is in a graphic in the IEC document.  It would have meaning for someone doing the test.  In general most customers just need to know that it is the type L spectrum:

Hello. Could you send me manual, which includes all functions to connecting encoder endat 2.1 (source drive or encoder etc.)

Dear All,

A technician in our firm wants to erase plc program using 'xp' command by running the drive in boot loader (pressing the two buttons at the drive front while powering it up) mode. However, instead of entering 'xp' command, he enters 'x' command and the drive starts to erase flash eprom. [Attached file: x.png]

After that the drive does not start with the firmware and it always starts in boot loader mode after power cycling. [Attached file: Acilis.png]

This article provides an overview of SafeMotion functions for Kollmorgen S700 servo drives.


We use S700 drives to drive linear motors in our measurement systems. Until this time we used Heidenhain encoders (Endat 2.2), but now we would like to change to Renishaw encoders with BiSS C protocol. But we faced some problems. We use linear motors with 32000um pole-pair pitch, resolution of the encoder 50nm with BiSS C 26bit protocol .
