Valid for S400, S600

Function

For controlling several servo amplifiers, start the communication with the first amplifier via RS232 and all other amplifiers via the CAN bus. Presumption for that is, that the CAN baud rates are identical and the station addresses of the servo amplifiers are set to different numbers.

S600 X5
S700 X5 (with option card POS-I/O-Monitor)

Setup

Setup must be done with the setup software (Terminal screen) with ASCII commands:

Valid for S300, S400, S600, S700

Task:
A speed set point shall be delivered digitally via a bus system. It must be possible to adjust the speed setpoint by an offset voltage with an analog input..

Setup

VSCALE1
Object 297, scaling turns / 10V for analog input

Settings in the setup software

OPMODE
1: Velocity analog

I/O analog set point function
4: Xsoll = SW1 + SW2

Valid for S600 with Firmware 588dpr174u only

With varying loads coupled to the motor the parameters GV and GP can be switched over very fast by using edge control of digital input 2 and the ASCII command VAR..

The command VAR is used only in the command sequence for digital input 2 for the rising and falling edge.

  • INHCMDX VAR
  • INLCMDX VAR

During execution of VAR the parameters are set dependant on the input polarity.

Valid for S300, S600, S700

Application (example)

For an auger the packaging quantity is to be adjusted by a motion task and the control is to be realized simply and user-friendly . The quantity can vary in a defined +/- range.

Realization

With a digital input the motion task is started, the motion task selection is done with a framing potentiometer due to the necessary voltage levels.

Valid for S400, S600

Indexing via a digital input.

Valid for S600 with FW 5.70 ...5.99, 7.xx

The external Flash card serves as external memory medium for both the S600 firmware and for the amplifier parameter. With its help a firmware-update can be carried out very quickly without additional hardware (e.g. a PC). The Upload/Download commands for the amplifier can be released either with the help of the ASCII command FLASH or by pressing the key S1/S2 at the front plate of the Flash card.

This Application Note explains the general functions and the necessary ASCII commands.
