S700 Starts in Bootloader Mode

Dear All,

A technician in our firm wants to erase plc program using 'xp' command by running the drive in boot loader (pressing the two buttons at the drive front while powering it up) mode. However, instead of entering 'xp' command, he enters 'x' command and the drive starts to erase flash eprom. [Attached file: x.png]

After that the drive does not start with the firmware and it always starts in boot loader mode after power cycling. [Attached file: Acilis.png]

I have tried to upload drive firmware by using "Upgrade_Tool_V3.2.9" software, but it gives errors and does not install it. [Attached file: firmware-1.png, firmware-2.png]

I have also tried firmware update after disconnecting "POS-IO-Monitor Expansion Card", but faced with the same error.

Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks

Dear Matthias,

Thanks for your reply. I couldn't check the hardware version, because of the ripped label. I am trying to install "v5.87_ND0" that is shared in the download section. Also I have used the "v5.86_ND0" which is in the CD given with the drive, but again I couldn't succeed. Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks

Hello,

You're right: in the boot loader you can delete the PLC program with the command "xp" and with "x" the firmware.

But it's better to use the following command from a running firmware:
-> UPDATE PLC

What is the hardware revision of the S700 and the name of the firmware file (version number) you want to update? Please make sure that only one serial connection is active.

Kind regards,
Matthias
