Hi All,

I'm a hobbyist who's recently got a used AKM52G-ANCNEJ00 servo and I'm waiting for a S310 driver to arrive for it. I"m looking at the cable to hook it all up and I've run into a snag, the EJ suffix on the motor in the manual means its a "10,000 PPR digital encoder w/ commutation" however when readying the S300 installation manual the encoder hookup section doesn't talk about this only Sine Encoder/ROD etc etc. Based on my limited understand I *think* the motor 10,000PPR would be covered under the "8.12.14 ROD (AquadB) 5V with Hall (X1)" section however i'm not 100% sure.

Is anyone able to help me out with some info? I'm down with almost everything else but this encoder hookup is stumping me

Cheers

The EH feedback is a "Commutating Encoder With Halls".

You would set the drive for this feedback type, with the lines/rev at 10,000 using the S300/S700 GUI.

You should not be challenged by the connection / wiring as both POWER and FEEDBACK cables should be purchased from the distributor you purchased the S300 from.  NOTE:  This drive is a legacy drive and should not be used for new applications.  Look at the AKD or S700.

Your distributor has software to determine the correct cable to connect the AKM to the S300, and maintain all required grounding/shielding to ensure this will function correctly, and not be subject to noise/EMI.  NOTE:  Determine required CABLE LENGTH prior to contacting the distributor for cable pricing / lead time.
