Motion profile Generator with P7000 tools | 09 Jul 2018 | |

Motion profile Generator with P7000 tools

Hello,

I use "P7000 tools" and want to use the Motion Profile Generator to programmed a move.
But it doesn't work.
In the detail, I assert a logic signal on MOVE SELECT input 1 (MoveSelect_1 in Active Open)
and,
I assert a logic signal on START MOVE input 2 (Start Move in Active Open)

For information,
The Run profile #1 doesn't work but the motion command is correct.

Have you got a idea ?

Thanks a lot
Boris

Per the screen shots attached to this case:

1. You CANNOT do motion tasking with the -SDN drive.  You must purchase a -PNN version of the drive.

2. f you did have a -PNN drive, you are not linking MT1 to MT2 and MT2 to MT3. Look at the right side of your attachment 1.jpg.

Contact your distributor and obtain the correct version of the P7000, as the -PNN is required for motion tasking.

I thank you for your feedback.
What is the difference between -SDN and -PNN ?

So, with my -SDN drive, how can I simply program a motion tasking ?

Thanks,

The P7000 catalog is attached.

The -SDN (as outlined in the catalog I just attached to this KN request) is for applications where a STEP AND DIRECTION signal / pulses are given to the P7000 drive.  (SDN = step and direction.)  It will NOT do motion tasks.  Period.

As stated in the catalog, PNN will do what you need.  You purchased the incorrect version of the P7000 if motion tasking is required.  PNN = Motion Node Indexing.  This is required for motion tasking.    Read the bottom of page 3 in the catalog under "features and benefits".

Ok, it's pity !
If I understand, it's the same history with command modbus.
Thanks

NOTE:  A SDN can be upgraded to a PNN!   You must contact your distributor with the SERIAL NUMBER and PART NUMBER.  The serial number must be EXACT.  A code can be used in P7000 Tools to upgrade the drive, and this WILL include a new nameplate as the new nameplate will reflect the PNN part number.  The part number for this upgrade is:  P7000PNUPGRADE .

I'm lucky if  I can change the firmware ! Thanks for information !

I will watch in the support in this site.

Correct. The SDN is for step and direction command only. You cannot store / save motion tasks in the SDN. Please contact the distributor that sold you the drive, as they should have asked how you were going to command motion. Step and direct or motion tasking.

You must contact a Kollmorgen distributor in Europe. Likely in Germany or Italy. Again, provide part number and EXACT serial number (suggest a picture of the serial number). You will get a code to convert the drive and a new / corrected nameplate showing it as a PNN drive. For your distributor, go to www.kollmorgen.com, and look at the top for "Where To Buy". Click on "Stepper Motor/Drives", then add country / location information. Germany can also be reached at: [email protected] Italy can be reached at: [email protected]. Again, the part number to request pricing / available for is: P7000PNUPGRADE This is NOT free.
