image

If the “Yes” button is pressed, the project will be converted to a KVB v2.20 project:

image

The project cannot be converted back to KVB v2.1 project. This message will appear only one time for a given KVB project.

Compatibility

KVB v2.20 supports the following:

  • Windows 7, 8, and 10
  • PDMM and PCMM hardware
  • All previous AKI panel models

and the following are not supported:

  • Windows XP and XP embedded

KVB Version 2.10 (build 2.15.2029)

New Features

KVB v2.10 adds support for the HMI models:

  • AKI-CDC-MOD-xxx-000.

KVB v2.10 is compatible with KAS v2.8 (and higher).

Since KAS v2.8 automatically generates KVB projects fully compatible with KVB v2.0, these projects need to be converted to work with KVB v2.10.

If KVB v2.10 is installed and launched directly from KAS IDE by double clicking a KVB project, the following pop up message will appear:

image

If the “Yes” button is pressed, the project will be converted to a KVB v2.1 project. The project cannot be converted back to KVB v2.0 project. This message will appear only one time for a given KVB project.

Compatibility

  • CDA and CDB are compatible with KVB v2.0 and KVB v2.15 IDE
  • CDC and PC runtimes needs to have the same version on KVB IDE and KVB runtime.

Installation

The installation package contains both IDE and runtime for CDC panels. The packages are available from the Downloads tool.

CDA and CDB panels - The runtime is downloaded when the project is downloaded to the panel. Only the KVB IDE version matters.

CDC panels - The runtime is installed separately and the version should match the KVB IDE version.

Known Issues

  • DT-3392: Cannot add new tags to KVB project without Rebuild
  • DT-2940: WebBrowser component not working for CDB panels
  • Possible KVB IDE crash during project download to HMI:  If the IP address is not valid or there are spaces in the KVB project name, it may cause an intermittent crash during download.  If you experience a crash, please provide the detailed procedure to reproduce the crash to the KAS development team.

Troubleshooting

  • If a project seems corrupted, a good thing to do is to clean the project. To do so:
    • Open your KAS Project
    • Go inside the temp folder of the KAS Project, go inside the HMI folder
    • Delete the following:
      • BuildFiles folder
      • Temp folder
      • All .CRI files
  • If on a Panel the application does not start, one potential way to solve it, is to restore to default factory settings. Doing that will reset all parameters like the networks settings. To do it turn DIP switch 3 to on.
