How to Configure An G&L Smart Drive or S200-DLS with Secondary Encoder

I have a customer with old system, Stand-alone Digital MMC (M.3000.0653) and S200-DLS (S20660-DLS). Want to add auxiliary encoder to close position loop of driven axis. Using J8 Aux Feedback port on S200. What is the PicPro function block to use for this purpose?

The setup for the secondary encoder is done in the PicPro software’s  Drive Maintenance  in the Expert View.   There is no Function block setup necessary to complete the feedback setup.

 

Go to Online and Select Drive Operations and Select Maintenance

Select the drive you want to configure the Aux Feedback and double click on it

Select Expert View for the S200-DLS drive setup.

 

Expand Feedback and Scaling

Double Click on the F1 Feedback Assignment Cell.  The Feedback Assignment Window Screen will open up

 

Select Configuration 4 the Aux Feedback will be configured for the axis position feedback

Select the  F2 Feedback Type you plan to use.

Enter Line count of encoder in the F2 Lines Per Rev Box.  Select Okay at the bottom of the setup window
