Encoder power supply 5V doesn't work?

Hi All,

I'm trying to configure a SinCos Encoder 5VDC, but when I select this feedback mode, there isn`t 5 VDC at pins 4 and 2 (X1 Connector). If I configure a SinCos 12 VDC I got the 11 VDC at those pins.

I just tried to configure de ENCVON parameter to 1 manually from the command terminal, but there isn`t good results.

Could be damage the 5VDC power stage?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Hello David

if at the 15 pin Sub-D connector, X1 pn 2 is bridged with pin 10 and also pin 4 is bridged with pin 12, you get 5Vdc at 2/10 (GND) -> 4/12 (5Vdc)!
There must be no change in the DRVCNFG parameters.
ENCVON is set to 1

Hello David,

I think you mean a servostar, correct?
Here, the sense line must also be connected.
If none exists, connect pin 2 -> 10 and pin 4 -> 12.

Good luck

I just get the conclusion ... If you use an 12 VDC encoder you don't need to connect the sense lines, but if a 5 VDC encoder ... you must do it. I don't know the reason, but it is.

PD: The Switch off sense line option doesn't affect to the result. You must connect the sense line too.

Thanks and regards

Hi Michael,

Sorry, you are right, I'm talking about a S700.

I should do that last test to confirm, but it's strange that I get 12V without the sense line, but not 5VDC.

By other side I just desactivated the sense line at DRVCNFG2.

I'm going to do some test, let's we see.

Thank you very much
