It appears this drive came out about 27 years ago......   I have been informed that there was no "software" used to program the drive, just a DOS based Hyper terminal as you stated above.

As this drive is obsolete,a nd no software was deigned to support this drive, it is strongly recommended to look at a P7000-PNN stepper drive as a replacement.  Working with your local distributor, they will look at the motor being used with the drive.  They need to know the motor's current and phase inductance when selecting a P7000.

You can find an authorized distributor at:

Click on "Stepper Motor/Drive", then "Commercial", followed by Country and Postal Code / ZIP Code.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I don't have the option of upgrade. Customer wants this running so i get the task of figuring out how to test this after the repair.

17 years ago, all parts, prints, support, etc was provided to a company in OH. Motor Systems Inc. (MSI) If a new stepper drive is not desired, MSI can possibly still repair this 440 series drive. Their # is 513-576-1725.
