Results detailed in new white paper “Scientifically Hygienic” available at booth B5716

Hygienic Component Design at IPPE

RADFORD, VA – January 12, 2017 – Kollmorgen will exhibit its industry-leading motion solutions for food and beverage manufacturers in booth B5716 at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), January 31 – February 2, 2017, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Visitors to the booth are invited ask for a copy of Scientifically Hygienic: Improving Machinery Design Through Improved Component Design, a white paper that discusses the findings of a recent study conducted by Kollmorgen and the Virginia Tech Department of Food Science and Technology. The study evaluated whether following industry hygienic design guidelines improved sanitation effectiveness. Personnel involved in the study will be also available for discussion at the booth.

“We believe show attendees will be very interested in our study with Virginia Tech. The goal was to find out how hygienic design at the component level – in this case servo motors – impacted sanitizability of the entire machine,” said Bill Sutton, Market Development Manager at Kollmorgen. “The results are important for any company focused on reducing contamination risk, as well as the costs associated with additional sanitizing time and cleaning interventions.”

Throughout the show Kollmorgen will demonstrate its AKMH™ Hygienic Servo Motor. The AKMH was developed based on research that included 100+ food processing companies. It is designed to deliver the ultimate cleanability and reliability in even the toughest wash-down environments.

IPPE attendees are invited to visit booth B5716 to discuss application needs, Kollmorgen products or hygienic design. Meetings with a Kollmorgen expert can be scheduled by contacting Bill Sutton at [email protected].
