Kollmorgen, a leader in hybrid motors, inverters and software for heavy vehicles, has helped build trouble-free prototypes that have become real-world success stories, delivering up to 30% lower fuel consumption and up to a 50% reduction in particle and nitrous oxides emissions.

Since 1993, when Kollmorgen developed its first hybrid prototype vehicle with a leading Scandinavian automaker, we have been at the vanguard of hybrid motor and inverter technology for heavy vehicles. Along the way, we have developed components and software that have put millions of buses and trucks on the roads, at construction sites, on farmlands and forestry sites. Milestones include:

  • We pioneered the development of low-voltage AC technology for lift truck applications
  • We have led the lift truck market in its conversion from DC to AC
  • In 1996, Kollmorgen launched the first-generation AC motors and drives (48V) for traction and lift applications
  • Kollmorgen helped develop a hybrid Forestry Forwarder that drastically improved fuel economy and reduced emissions

Kollmorgen has a commitment to getting your hybrid to market quickly and making sure it’s right from the moment we start working with you.

Your dedicated project team will work closely with you from the product planning stage to ongoing technology management during development and critical oversight.
