Class 1: Counter Balance Trucks
Kollmorgen has vast experience with counter balance trucks for a wide variety of applications. Solutions exist for 1 ton up to 8 ton trucks, with power exceeding 50 kW.
The nerve center of the Class 1 system is the Vehicle Master Controller (VMC). All system building blocks are integrated into a system by the CanOpen communication bus, allowing reliable monitoring and communication, and also makes it possible to distribute functionality among different components in a system in an optimized way.
The table below lists some typical component selections for different types of Class 1 trucks. Component selection may vary depending on the exact specification of the vehicle in question though.

Class 2: Warehouse Trucks
Warehouse trucks, such as Order Pickers, Reach and Turret trucks, etc, are designed for handling complex logistics in a confined space. In addition to AC motors and drives, Kollmorgen's solutions include wire guidance, automation, and sensor. The components work together to increase productivity and safety. One typical feature is the ability to add progressive steering to the vehicle, such that travel speed and steering sensitivity are interconnected. All components can be mixed and matched to fit a specific application or truck.

Class 3 forklifts are either walk-behind, or standing-rider operate, and they can be of both low and high lifting type. To save cost, there is usually no master controller in the system, but I/O is connected directly to the drive.
